A: It helped that I graduated from the College of Charleston. Then I stumbled on a newspaper ad (which dates me) for the startup Benefitfocus, looking for Engineers. I was there for the next decade of my career.

Q: Why do you think Charleston is a burgeoning tech sector?

A: That’s easy: You can write code pretty much anywhere, so why not choose the top tourist destination in the country with the best weather?

Q: Best advice to those looking to move to Charleston for work?

A: Visit local meetups and chat with folks about the different tech shops to get a vibe for how it is to work there.

A: Connecting the tech community

Q: What's your motivation for working in Charleston?

A: Diversity + public Montessori schools.

A: Beaches and Martha Lou’s

Q: It's the weekend - what do you do in Charleston?

A: During the day we’ll likely hit up a park if there’s no birthday party or sports game to attend. At night the kids like when we park at the Battery and walk (run) around the city just exploring.

A: Flowertown Festival (shout out to the old stomping ground!)
